Now Hear This!

SHOW TIME ALERT: This month we will be airing live a whole 2 weeks early, so set your alarms for this coming Sunday April 10 at 9:00 PM EST to hear us streaming live...

Wow, so much to cover in this post (I guess that's the result of bimonthly updates).

First, we would like to welcome anyone who stumbled here after picking up our nifty new Strictly Slambovian card. A long time in the works, it debuted on the merch table at the March 26th show at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady, NY. It is a 2-sided card that has the link to this page as well as our hosting station, WBCR-LP. We hope it will raise awareness among fellow Slambovians to check out our monthly show dedicated to the band we can't seem to get enough of! We hear that a few have even made their way across the pond with The Grand Slambovians as they tour the UK!  Here it is:

Next (with a little scrolling), you will notice that we have a slick new way to catch up on our show. We have embedded streaming players which will contain the few most recent episodes of Strictly Slambovian, no more off-site downloading necessary! Of course you still have the option to download by simply clicking on the "down" arrow to the right of the player. Below the players, our older shows are still available for download by clicking on the links.

And now for the main attraction--the radio show! Below you will find all three of 2011's episodes, starting with March which covers a few tunes from what has become a frequent Slambovian stop: the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, MA and a return (they performed at the grand opening back in October) to Tupelo Music Hall, tucked away in White River Junction, VT. Don't miss this one, as it contains a live performance of "Chinese Vegebles"! In February we play from the Circle of Friends Coffeehouse as Tink and Joziah dialogue "The Joe Jackson Experience". Also we present 4 tracks from the Fat Horse and Slim musical at the Circle in the Square Theatre in NYC. And reaching all the way back to January, a mix from a special New Year's Day show in the warm wooden confines of Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT as well as the annual New Year's Eve/Eve show at World Cafe Live in Philly. Just hit play!

Phew! If you are still reading after all the above, thank you :o) With that said, in the coming year our goal is to make this site much more active--look for more frequent updates as we hope to make this a place worth bookmarking!

Long Gone Lonesome Blog...

Wow, time certainly flies in the kingdom of Slambovia. Over the past several months, our attempts at recording the show (for downloading) have continued to be plagued by tech issues, causing some delays but hopefully next month will see them sorted out so we can start posting shows with more consistency!

We have however recently salvaged:

December's program was snow-shortened but saw guest host David Ripley brave the weather and fill in for James. Our hosts also ponder the question of whatever happened to HAL?

November's program in which we debuted the new album, "The Grand Slambovians" (after the band did so at their US/UK Grand Slambovian Extraterrestrial Hillbilly Pirate Balls). Also played was the band's second annual "Thanksgiving in Woodstock" show at the Bearsville Theater, and lots of talk about donkeys...

September's program featured shows from the Town Crier Cafe, Caffe Lena, and the Iron Horse Music Hall. It was a full studio that night with both Walt Flynn and fellow WBCR-LP radio host Tracey Mahon sharing their musings on the band with Jeanne Bassis. And not to be missed is our interview with Sharkey (that got hijacked by Joziah!), literally on the streets of Northampton, MA.

Enjoy the fun!
